Advantages of clamping technologies
Screw clamp
Rising clamp technology – Extreme reliability – Long-term stable connections, even under aggressive environmental conditions – Wire-terminal maximum contact surface – High wire retention force – Low self-heating – Contact forces regardless of wire cross-section – Connection of very small wire sections – Two wires per pole perfectly connected – Multiple wirings – Gas-proof
Spring clamp
Reduced wiring time – Easy handling – Tightening independent of the operator – Insertion tool free: solid wires or stranded wires with ferrules can be directly inserted by hand – Vibration-proof – High retention force – Lower installation cost – IP20 – Gas-proof
Useful, versatile and innovative solutions
The ideal solution for a safe and error-free plug and header connection.
Most products offer modularity; products can be hooked together to achieve the desired number of poles without loss of centerline spacing.
Most products are available from 2 to 25 poles with a monolithic plastic housing.
Pin length according to customer specification.
By adding pegs on the plastic housing, unambiguous PCB assembly can be facilitated without any possibility of error.
A team of experts is entirely dedicated to customization requests as well as to the development of items and solutions that can go beyond the catalog offerings
The guarantee of high reliability
100% automatic inspection
Sauro has a global reputation for product reliability which allows a guarantee to customers of almost zero functional defect. In fact, products are inspected during production both visually and functionally. Visual inspections that are performed 100% automatically include: verifying that the contact spring opening is according to specification, checking that all metal components are present and according to the specification, ensuring that marking is according to design, etc. Products leaving manufacturing have already been tested on the line, with tests specially designed by Sauro on the screw tightening mechanism both mechanically and electrically. Inspections are done not only during production, but also during the packaging phase. Products packaged in a reel or cell tray intended for automatic PCB assembly are checked for pitch, alignment and protrusion of the terminals before being placed inside the reel pockets or tray cells. The correct position of the product inside the reel pocket or tray cell is then checked with an automatic optical system to ensure unimpeded pick by the pick and place machine.
Products for automation
Reflow solder products
SAURO offers a wide range of products suitable for reflow soldering. Options include STH (THR, PiP) products which are through hole and SMD products designed for surface soldering.

STH and SMD products have design and manufacturing prerogatives that must be strictly adhered to in order to be used automatically by the customer without human intervention and interruptions during PCB assembly.
Unlike standard products, which are suitable for manual or wave soldering, STH and SMD products are made of a glass fiber reinforced polyamide with high melting temperatures allowing the use of high reflow temperatures.
The material used for STH and SMD products is classified MSL1 (Moisture Sensitive Level 1), which means it is insensitive to moisture and no specific anti-moisture packaging or drying process is required before reflow soldering. With this type of material, any product deformation or bubbling on the surface after exposure to high temperatures is avoided.
Products are designed to be placed with pliers or vacuum nozzle; therefore, they feature parallel walls or flat surfaces that facilitate automatic gripping. This design choice avoids the use of pick up pad. SAURO always recommends pad-less solutions to avoid its manual removal and the resulting waste management.
STH and SMD products are visually tested and inspected throughout their manufacturing. The pitch, alignment, and protrusion of the terminals are 100% verified before packaging in tape on reel or tray.
During the packaging stage, an automated visual inspection is carried out to ensure that the product is positioned correctly inside the tape on reel pocket or tray cell.
Reflow soldering profile
STH (PiP, THR) and SMD products are manufactured with a plastic material that is resistant to high temperature, thus they can be soldered by all lead free reflow processes with a peak temperature up to 260°C/500°F, according to the suggested soldering profile.
STH & SMD packaging and customizations
STH product packaging is available in tape on reel, cell tray, or bulk / box. SMD products are generally offered on reel only; other types of packaging are on request. Customizations are always possible, whether it’s a color other than black (standard color of STH and SMD products), marking with special characters, or custom length terminals; STH and SMD products adhere to Sauro’s customer-oriented philosophy as well as standard ones.
